The Wildlife Advocates Foundation has been founded to rescue wildlife from poor captive situations, one by one.

THEY NEED TO GET OUT. ASAP!

The La Rioja Big Cats.

Princesa

Princesa is trapped in a shut down zoo in La Rioja, northern Argentina. We want to get her out as soon as possible as her current situation is really unhealthy. It is progressively affecting her physical and mental condition. Two animals, a tiger and a lion, have already died recently. Princesa is one of 11 tigers, ‘ligons’ or ‘ligers’ (crossbreed between tiger and lion) and lions left abandoned and desperate to leave this horrible zoo.

The zoo was already closed down in 2016 after horrific pictures were posted online of animals living in a state of neglect. It turned out that for many years, the owner at that time, had ran an illegal breeding farm, selling big cat cubs to circus owners and private individuals. Right now, some 11 lions, tigers and ‘ligons’, also some bears, are still there in dire need for a safe and peaceful place to spend the rest of their precious lives.

YOU CAN ACTUALLY SAVE THEM.

We know you care about wildlife. With our rescue mission you can actually save Princesa and the other animals. We’ll also keep you updated about all the steps we make to bring Princesa and the others to their home. If you want to help save them, click on the button below and get in touch with us!

NEWS

As a new foundation it is important that we show what we can to earn the trust of the people that want to work with is. Foor is it is important that we can build a large group of people and companies that help us to fulfil our mission.

That’s why we are always happy that media with their articles or programs give us the opportunity to reach out to much more people than we can do ourselves.

If you click the button below, you will go to a page where we have collected the news articles about the WIldlife Advocates Foundation.

Sanctuary

The animals we rescue will go to selected sanctuaries, where we know they will be respected and can live their life in peace. We now work with Ubuntu Wildlife Sanctuary, a well-respected wildlife sanctuary in South Africa.

You can read more about the Ubuntu Wildlife Sanctuary here.

Our foundation

We founded WAF because we love wildlife but also want to do something about the terrible conditions they often are forced to live in.

OUR MISSION - RESCUING CAPTIVE WILDLIFE.

Thousands of wild animals are trapped in awful situations: Neglected by owners who treated them as pets, in zoos that don’t have the resources anymore to properly feed them while living in small cages, left by circuses that are not allowed to entertain people with wild animals anymore.

We give them a future again and get them out of their misery by moving them to a new home to carefully selected, ethical and responsible sanctuaries in Africa where there is enough space to feel freedom. Without reproduction, without direct interaction with tourists and without trade in wildlife.
Our mission is to save these animals. One by one. In well-managed, coordinated and respectful rescue missions.

We always organize our rescue missions in a transparent way, one at a time. Sometimes it is one tiger, sometimes it is a couple or a small group. This approach is not only effective, but it is also very rewarding, for the animal, for us and for the people that help us to make this possibly. Because in this way we can truly say: you can actually save a tiger, a lion or another icon of nature.

With your help we can rescue more wildlife from mostly horrible conditions and give them a new future, in a place where they are cared for and where they can live a life which can described as the closest to the life as possible.
